Service Description
Learn about the ways to ‘read’ a hive and hopefully spot a queen! You’ll be part of a group of up to 8 people but will have the chance to get hands on if you wish. We start with a quick talk on the history of beekeeping and give you some insight into the tools and equipment used before we suit up and inspect a hive. While in the hive we'll show you the honey, brood (baby bees), pollen and if you're lucky we'll be able to see the queen. We provide a beesuit and gloves but ask that you wear long trousers and wellies or walking boots to protect your ankles and avoid the mud. 2024 dates: April 14th, May 11th and 26th, June 8th and 23rd, July 20th August 18th
